AC St. Louis will be looking to create the final team that they will field on the pitch in April as they hold their invitation tryout on Saturday and Sunday. This past Saturday and Sunday, the team held tryouts for walk-on players, and invited 14 of them to participate in this weekend’s event.
The tryout will include players from 23 different states and three different countries.
“We have been pleasantly surprised with the level of talent that we saw at the open tryout this past weekend,” said Coach Claude Anelka, according to the NASL site . “Now we take the next step in assembling our team, this is an exciting process for us. We are simply looking for the best players we can find.”
Director of Player Development Francisco Filho said that this is the last time for players to make their impression on the coaches. “This is the final tryout, so those that we see this weekend must perform and impress us. We are looking for players in some specific positions that will compliment the players we expect to sign.”
The final tryout will consist of four matches. While these matches are open to the media, they are not open to the public.
