Around the NASL

The Carolina RailHawks re-signed Gregory Richardson. Richardson is best remembered for two particular games. He had hat tricks twice in his career, once for Joe Public in CONCACAF Champions League versus New England of MLS and once for Carolina in a 9-0 win over Miami FC last year.

The club also re-signed Daniel Paladini (pictured above). The former Chivas USA midfielder had an outstanding first season with the club winning team MVP honors.

NSC Minnesota named Manny Lagos, long time MLS player and Minnesota Thunder executive as Head Coach. How Lagos will fare as a Head Coach is anyone’s guess, particularly in a league that is full of experienced coaches.

AC St Louis signed local products Zach Bauer and Tim Velten both of whom played college soccer in Southern Illinois.

Miami FC resigned Zach Kirby. Kirby’s claim to fame was that he was the LA Galaxy player waived to make room for David Beckham on the team’s roster in 2007.

FC Tampa Bay Rowdies signed Daryl Sattler, Phillip Lamarre, Long Tan, Aaron Wheeler and Gordon Kljestan.

Vancouver Whitecaps FC announced a pre-season friendly with local rival Seattle Sounders FC of MLS.

  1. I do hope that AC St. Louis does expand outside of the metro St. Louis area for players.

  2. Miami FC Player, Zach “Beowulf” Kirby is a great player. Regrettably, the L.A. Galaxy dropped him to add “Golden Balls” David Beckham.
Kirby is a great player that unfortunately suffered from Beckham’s entrance into American Soccer. Kirby should be at a higher level, too bad he hasn’t moved on. Hopefully this year will be his redemption.

  3. Was anyone heard about O’Garro I read somewhere that the saint/ace’s signed him. So are the saints what we are going to call them or what about the ace’s.

  4. Yes we did sign him, it was announced today.
