Breaking News: AC St. Louis partners up with Nike

Well, we might not have the exact look of the new AC St. Louis jerseys as of yet, but we do know that Nike will be the supplier of the team’s jerseys. The team has just announced a deal with Nike, which will make the sport’s giant the team’s official uniform supplier.

Also, the club announced that they plan on releasing the jersey (and training equipment) next month as well.

Here is the press release from the club:

ST. LOUIS, MO (February 11, 2010) – AC St. Louis, playing in the USSF Division 2, and a member of the new North American Soccer League (NASL) announced that the team’s official uniform supplier will be Nike. AC St. Louis and Nike have agreed upon a multi-year apparel and footwear sponsorship. 
“This is a huge step in creating the AC St. Louis brand,” said AC St. Louis Chairman Jeff Cooper. “The name Nike resonates around the globe, and we are proud to have them designing our official uniform and our training product. We want to provide our players and fans a product that is of the utmost quality, and by partnering with Nike we have accomplished that.”
Nike currently is the official uniform and apparel provider for such storied European clubs as Manchester United, FC Barcelona, Arsenal, Inter Milan, Juventus, and Celtic. Nike has also designed the uniforms that the United States and Brazil among others will wear at this summer’s FIFA World Cup in South Africa.
“Nike is proud to partner with AC St. Louis,” said Joe Elsmore, Nike’s Director of Soccer Sports Marketing for North America.  “The St. Louis soccer community has a rich heritage and we’re honored to support AC St Louis by delivering our most innovative product”. 
Nike and AC St. Louis expect to unveil the official kit and training product next month.
