Ambersley signs, Titton arrives from Brazil.

From the AC St. Louis front office:

ST. LOUIS, MO (April 15, 2010) – AC St. Louis, playing in the USSF Division 2 Pro League, announced the signing of St. Louis native Mike Ambersley, and the arrival of Brazilian forward Alex Titton. Ambersley, 27, is a forward who has previously played for the Rochester Rhinos. Titton was previously signed by AC St. Louis in February. He joined the team on Wednesday to observe training.

“It is good to be playing professional soccer back here in my hometown,” stated Ambersley. “This is a dream come true for me. I just want to help AC St. Louis in any way I can during this first season. Plus, it is exciting to be playing in front of friends and family.”

Ambsersley played collegiately at Indiana University from 2001 until 2005 where he won back-to-back national championships with the Hoosiers. He was voted Indiana team MVP in his senior season, and was named to the All-Big 10 Conference Freshman Team in his first season at Bloomington.

Titton most recently played with the Brazilian club EC Sao Jose. He is the first of three Brazilian players to arrive in St. Louis. Cassiano and Gauchinho were also signed by AC St. Louis in February. The remaining duo are expected to arrive shortly, which will fully round out the AC St. Louis roster. Titton, 19, spent five years with Gremio and one season with Internacional before becoming a full professional with EC Sao Jose. Titton also trialed with Tottenham Hotspur of the English Premier League.

Ambersley played prep soccer at DeSmet Jesuit High School in suburban St. Louis. He most recently played professionally for the Rochester Rhinos in the 2009, 2007, and 2006 season. Ambersley missed the entire 2008 season due to injury.

Ambsersley and Titton could make their debuts for AC St. Louis on Saturday night, April 17, when the club host the Austin Aztex in their first ever home match. Game time is set for 7:10 p.m. at The Anheuser-Busch Soccer Park.
