Fabio Capello Announces England 23 Man World Cup Roster

England’s Men’s National Team Coach, Fabio Capello, has announced the roster that is going to South Africa to compete in the 2010 World Cup.  England, which is rated 8th in FIFA World Rankings, will compete in Group C against the USA (14th ranked), Slovenia (25th ranked), and Algeria (30th ranked).  England opens its Group C competition against the United States on June 12.

  1. Why is Heskey on the roster?!?! I could have sworn that Darren Bent easily earned his place on the squad. I understand that he’s big and has a good aerial game and everything, but he doesn’t score at all! Rooney already does enough by himself.

  2. When Heskey plays, England plays well. I think it is a smart move. He knows this level of play as well. One of the few moves of Capello that I actually agree with.
