NASL Board of Governors Meeting in Montreal Today

NASL Members, Expansion Candidates, and Special Guests to Attend Montreal Impact – AC Milan Match at Olympic Stadium

Montreal, QUEBEC (June 2, 2010) –The North American Soccer League (NASL) is holding a special Board of Governors (BOG) meeting in Montreal which will kick off today with the international friendly between the Montreal Impact of the NASL and AC Milan of the Italian Serie A. The BOG meeting will be attended by the NASL member teams and prospective expansion teams, league partners and special guests. This meeting will focus on the NASL business plan, reviewing expansion candidates for 2011 with a special emphasis on 2012 (and beyond), as well as preparing for the resubmission of the application for sanctioning by the United States Soccer Federation (USSF).

Tonight’s match at Montreal’s Olympic Stadium promises to be the most attended game of AC Milan’s 2010 North American tour. As of Tuesday evening, 36,000 tickets had been purchased in advance for the match that will feature former World Player of the Year Ronaldinho, Clarence Seedorf, Alessandro Nesta and several other Serie A superstars. The game kicks off at 8:00 pm Eastern Time.
