World Cup 2010: Can France win with 4-2-3-1 formation?

In the last days we have been hearing about a possible change in formation. In addition we are hearing about which players are going to be playing and which players will not be playing.

Yet, if Raymond Domenech doesn’t read the “signs” (and I am not just talking about astrological ones either), will it even really matter for the French team?

According to L’Equipe this evening, Bordeaux midfielder Yoann Gourcuff will be amongst the benched players in tomorrow’s match against Mexico. While Gourcuff didn’t have a great game against Uruguay, he didn’t have a bad game either. Still, he showed that he is a player that falls off the pace once the game gets into the latter minutes.

Still, if Domenech plans on workingwith a 4-2-3-1 formation, France has a huge chance for success.

But if Domenech runs the 4-2-3-1 the way I feel that he will run it, France might be destined for failure.
