USA-Algeria at Tigin’s Wednesday Morning

A great time was had by all at Tigin’s Irish Pub downtown Wednesday morning — especially after Landon Donovan put away the winning goal for the US men’s National Team to secure a first place finish in Group C for the Americans.  Got to meet a lot of nice people, including Fanatic fan William Hezel.  The fans were stoked, and everyone left with a smile after the US last-minute win.  The next USMNT game is Saturday at 1:00 pm CDT on ABC against Ghana, who knocked the US out of the 2006 World Cup.  Time for payback, don’t you think?

Here’s some pics from Tigin’s…..sorry not of the best quality.  And remember that the red-hot AC St. Louis squad takes on the Vancouver Whitecaps Saturday evening at AB Soccer Park.  Been awhile since our last home game, let’s fill the park and rock the house and avenge our earlier loss to the Whitecaps.

  1. This was one of the most remarkable sporting events that I have ever witnessed and I am a huge sports fan.Tigin’s Irish Pub Is the place to watch the World Cup.The fans, the service the great food and drinks top It off.I would like to thank my Unc.Charlie Mathews for showing me a whole other side of a sport and the true meaning of what It Is to be an American sports fan.

  2. Doug, thank you for joining me for what turned out to be a defining moment in US Soccer History. I posted a link to a video on your FaceBook wall that I think you will enjoy. As you saw, Tigin is a special place. It is why I got on my hands and knees and kissed the floor when I arrived for the game. Great Food, Better Pints! Now whose hair brained idea was it to have the Irish Whiskey shots? I’m just now recovering. Cheers my good friend and let’s do it again this Saturday, next Friday, the following Tuesday and finally the Final on July 11th. Go USA!
