Cary, N.C. (Wednesday, August 18, 2010) – The Carolina RailHawks announced today that Mexican legend Claudio Suarez  has accepted an invitation to train with the team starting September 1 and will play in at least one match with the RailHawks. Details of the match will be announced by the end of the week.

“I am very excited for the opportunity to train and play in North Carolina with the RailHawks,” said Claudio Suarez. “I feel I still have the ability to play at a high level and to contribute to a professional football club.”

Suarez, one of the best defenders in the world, began his career in 1988 in Mexico with Pumas UNAM, where he won a Mexican First Division championship in 1991. From 1996 to 2000 he spent time at Chivas Guadalajara leading his team to another championship in 1997. In 2000 he transferred to UANL Tigres where he stayed until 2006 joining Chivas USA of Major League Soccer until 2009. During his club career in Mexico and the United States, Suarez saw action in 555 matches, netting 53 goals.

Claudio Suarez has also had a rich International career and holds the record for most caps with the Mexican National team as well as the world record for most capped field player in history (Only Saudi goalkeeper Mohamed Al-Deayea has more international appearances).Suarez played in three FIFA World Cups for Mexico. He participated in the 1994 USA tournament as well France 1998 and Germany 2006.

It is an honor to have such an International legend playing on our team,” said RailHawks coach Martin Rennie. “We look forward to having him train with us and learn from his experience. It is going to be interesting to have him with our club and explore the possibility of having him here for a longer period of time in the future.”

The RailHawks embark on a two-game road trip this weekend that will take them to Austin on August 22 and to Tampa on August 25. They return home for a match against the Puerto Rico Islanders on Saturday August 28. Blatter could be forgiven for heaving a massive sigh of reduction,as his organisation experienced to a certain extent gambled when choosing to just take theWorld Cup (excuse me, the 2010 FIFA World Cup) to Africa for the initial time.Several specialists experienced confidently predicted that FIFA would make a decline on the eventin distinction to the massive profits generated in Germany in 2006, but the results werefantastically great off the pitch, even if some of the soccer on display wasdisappointing. a b “Roja,
